My Approach
Choosing a psychiatrist is an important decision, whether it’s for you or for a loved one. Mental health is best achieved when a variety of treatment approaches are available. Options are important. Every person deserves a unique treatment, tailored to his or her unique situation. Finding the right fit can be the difference between a healthy recovery and prolonged symptoms.
All psychiatrists are trained to provide education about psychological conditions and offer counseling about the use of medication to ameliorate symptoms. Working with a psychiatrist
who has additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy allows a more targeted approach to symptom management and often the use of less, or no, medications.
Medications are not your only option.
Doctor Lipman completed his residency training in general psychiatry at the University of Colorado Hospital. He also completed fellowship training in child psychiatry at the University of Colorado and the Denver Children's Hospital, where he was also the Chief Resident. After his fellowship training Dr. Lipman went on to study at the Denver Psychoanalytic Institute to receive specialized training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Dr. Lipman is board certified by the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
